The Best News Photo
In late October 2024, Spain experienced its deadliest floods in over a century, primarily affecting the Valencia region. Triggered by a DANA (Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos) weather phenomenon, the floods resulted in over 200 fatalities and left thousands homeless. The photo was taken by Robert Solsona from Europa Press after the devastating storm, and it depicts a woman who looks exhausted by the disaster.

The Best Entertainment Photo
On October 24, 2024, artist Lindy Lee unveiled Ouroboros, a monumental sculpture at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra. Inspired by the ancient symbol of a serpent eating its tail, the sculpture reflects themes of eternity and interconnectedness. Photographer Lukas Coch from AAP captured images of Lindy Lee with her creation.
