Curated by our Picture Desk, we catch you up on the news and stories from across the globe. From uncovering stunning creative images, diving deep into the major news stories to the moments to remember from the sporting world.

This week people across Europe fought to save the endangered lives of our cultural institutions. Creative professionals and those from the world of entertainment gathered in force to challenge the extension venue closures across the industry.

Elsewhere, unusual traditions took place this week in Italy with Monsignor Vincenzo De Gregorio, abbot of the chapel of San Gennaro, attending the so-called liquefaction of the blood of Saint Januarius miracle ceremony. And in Russia, the sale of the royal carp at the Benedictine Abbey in Staniatki near Krakow.

In sport, Germany’s second soccer team, Düsseldorf defeated VFL Osnabrück 3-0 in the 12th matchday of the Bundesliga, the men’s IBU World Cup took place in Austria with the 10km sprint for the Biathlon and fireworks broke out during the final in the Sydbank cup that saw Fremad Amager win 2-1 on Thursday in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Take a look over the week with our review.
